NICOLE GOOLSBY - Contributing Writer

Then:

Nicole was a Canadian girl who spent her younger years playing hockey in the driveway, riding her bike further than she should, exploring in the woods, climbing through tract homes under construction and watching lots of black and white musicals on TV.   Singing and dancing along with Judy Garland and Shirley Temple in the front window turned into playing Simon and Garfunkel and Queen LP’s on her dad’s homemade Hi Fi.  Then in the early teenage years of American Bandstand and Soul Train, her family moved to Tennessee.  What a culture shock!  But once she discovered grits, biscuits n gravy, country ham and fried okra, she knew the South was where she belonged.

Now:

Still building and singing and unable be still or stay put for long, Nicole knows that exploring far from home and experiencing life’s adventures are essential, but loves that she and her three children can call the Dixie and Lake Norman, home.
