Tips On Writing A great Article

When writing an article, follow these tips and you will benefit by “adding value” and providing an informative service to our readers.

1. Provide Information and Not a Sales Pitch
If you want to write about your product/service and explain how great it is, then you should write a press release and explain its newsworthy features. When writing an article for publication, of course it should relate to your area of expertise, but should not be bragging about you or your product/service. It should never be a “sales pitch”!  "The Baby Boomer News" will reject this type of article, classifying it as an “advertorial”.

For example, if you operate a wallpaper store, then write a “how-to” article helping readers to solve a design problem or an “about ” article informing them of features and benefits of a certain product. If you write well and provide useful information, then the readers will be impressed and will want to find out more about you and your business.

2. Write the article properly!
Write an intelligent 400-500 word article. Interest and inspire reading the entire article.Take the time to write it well.  Provide useful information. Be inventive and creative and use a Thesaurus if necessary. Spell check before submitting.

3. Format Your Articles Properly
The readability of your article is a key to its effectiveness. Divide your article into short paragraphs punctuated by sub-headings.  This format will give your readers a chance to more easily assimilate your message. Editors have no time to make these corrections and as a result, your article may be not be published.
